MECHANICAL JOINTS IN ROLLED SCREW-THREADED REINFORCING BARS

نویسندگان

چکیده

Introduction. Russian manufacturers currently produce screw-threaded reinforcing bars (rebars) and couplers to join them. However, the application of such reinforcement in construction industry is hindered by a high compliance screw couplings. Aim: assess coupling joints reinforced with adhesives. Materials methods. The study used Av500P rebars, couplers, as well adhesive compounds containing cement binder epoxy resin. were injected into cavity means hand pumps, followed their natural hardening. tests conducted using universal testing machines. Results. In terms strength, yield, delaminatability, found meet required stress-strain properties couplers. Recommendations for assembling are provided. Conclusions. studies show that rebars can be joined construction.

Corrosion of Reinforcing Bars in Concrete

The causes and mechanisms of corrosion of reinforcing bars in concrete are described in terms of the practical issues as well as the electrochemistry. The parameters affecting corrosion are (i) the ingress of aggressive species, such as chlorides, which break down the protective film on the reinforcing bar and (ii) the amount of those species necessary to do so. The former is largely controlled...

Mechanical properties of fibre reinforced polymer reinforcing bars at elevated temperatures

This paper presents the results of an experimental study of the mechanical properties of FRP reinforcement bars, used as internal reinforcement in concrete structures, at elevated temperatures. Two types of FRP bars namely: carbon fibre reinforced polyester bars of 9.5mm diameter and glass fibre reinforced polyester bars of 9.5mm and 12.7 mm diameter were used in the study. For comparison, conv...

Bond Strength of Composite CFRP Reinforcing Bars in Timber

The use of near-surface mounted (NSM) fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) bars is an interesting method for increasing the shear and flexural strength of existing timber members. This article examines the behaviour of carbon FRP (CFRP) bars in timber under direct pull-out conditions. The objective of this experimental program is to investigate the bond strength between composite bars and timber: bar...

R/C Existing Structures with Smooth Reinforcing Bars: Experimental Behaviour of Beam-Column Joints Subject to Cyclic Lateral Loads

Abstract: The paper illustrates the results of experimental tests performed on sub-assemblages of R/C (Reinforced Concrete) existing structures, designed only for gravity loads In order to estimate failure mechanisms and ductility properties, four internal and external R/C beam-column joints were built and tested. The specimens were built by using concrete with low strength and smooth reinforci...

Computational Homogenization of Fresh Concrete Flow Around Reinforcing Bars

Motivated by casting of fresh concrete in reinforced concrete structures, we introduce a numerical model of a steady-state non-Newtonian fluid flow through a porous domain. Our approach combines homogenization techniques to represent the reinforced domain by the Darcy law with an interfacial coupling of the Stokes and Darcy flows through the Beavers-Joseph-Saffman conditions. The ensuing two-sc...
